About Mike...

Michael McCormack Photographs in these collections were captured with a Canon AE1 35 millimeter or Mamiya 645 medium-format film camera during the years 1992 through 2017. Fujichrome Velvia or Kodak Ektachrome were my films of choice, while black & white photos were created on a variety of negative films (paintings and drawings were photographed on Fujichrome Sensia or Astia film with minimal adjustments for color in Adobe Photoshop).

I enjoyed the rich colors and subtle grains of film and loved the challenges of a non-digital photographic format, always shooting first and asking the more salient life questions later. In my eclectic portfolio you will find many of the answers to those questions that have haunted me, hidden within images as diverse as a feral tabby cat resting upon a forgotten grave in a Paris cemetery, a flaming sugar maple tree caught in the vestigial glow of autumn, or a city park bench delicately coated in April snowfall.

Although I no longer pursue photography, I enjoyed a twenty-five-year run with a camera lens as my North Star. It was a life journey taking me from the cobblestoned streets of Paris to the desert sands of Death Valley in search of meaning (though most of my photographs were created in the hinterlands of Northern New England).

I sincerely hope that you find something worthwhile in this gallery. Thank you for any consideration you might give to purchasing my work!

All the best,

Mike
